PHILOSOPHY I have two goals in life, "to give more than I take and to leave this world better then I found it." It is the fundamental ideology I instill in my children, and it is the reason I am an educator. As a teacher and mother of two, it is important for me to contribute to the betterment of the world, both personally and professionally. Both at home and in the classroom, I strive to create thinking, caring, globally conscious individuals, who know through hard work and perseverance they will attain their goals. As an educator and mother, I am entrusted with our future leaders, mothers, husbands, CEO's, and entrepreneurs of the world, whose lives I have the distinct ability to enrich. I am keenly aware of the responsibility inherent within my profession, and I am honored to have that privilege. My educational philosophy is a simple one. Master your content, keep your expectations high, differentiate your instruction and assessment, and make it fun. Everyday is a learning experience, for me, my children and my students. They challenge me as much as I challenge them. The road is not always easy, but my mother gave me a great piece of advice years ago. She said, "Nancy, never forget what it was like to be young." This pearl of wisdom has helped shaped my approach to motherhood and education. I empathsize with my children and students, as they struggle to negotiate the tumultuous road to adulthood. They know I care and support them, and that I will do everything within my power to guide them along their path. However, I will never lower my expectations.
